Marriage and Family Counseling
Marriage Counseling
Marriage counseling is important to help a couple address marital concerns. Counseling helps couples take time out of their busy lives and come together as a team and focus them on themselves. Couples counseling works, and in taking the steps to make positive changes for the better of your relationship it will help you understand why you and your partner are doing what you’re doing. You will learn skills and change the behaviors that are hurting your relationship, and create the positive connection that you long for and desire for your marriage or relationship.
It is also critical to identify early patterns of unhealthy coping strategies, as well as childhood trauma. These early experiences, along with negative thoughts and behaviors learned as young children, are brought into marriages and other adult relationships. As unhealthy and harmful responses are corrected, relationships become more emotional intimate and satisfying.
This practice also offers premarital counseling using the Prepare/Enrich inventory and welcomes couples who are not married. The overall goal is still the same: to improve the quality of your relationship.
Family Counseling
Our family shapes who we are and has a powerful influence on how we feel, think, and bahave. Family can propel us forward or hold us back. Any family who would like healthier, closer family relationships can benefit from family therapy.
There are three goals of family therapy that help improve the family system. These goals are improved communication, dealing with family conflicts, and creating a better functioning home environment.
If you feel like the goals listed above could benefit you and your family, contact us to set up an appointment.
